Iceland facts

Education

Iceland has a great educational system. They have a huge budget of $28.5 billion dollars a year. Iceland’s education is free for everyone living in their country from Playschool through the university level.  This is great because in the USA this is not the case.  Going to a University is limited in the US to those students who can afford to pay the high cost of tuition and who score high enough on their entrance exams to be invited in. This is not the case in Iceland.  They have 4 levels of of education and it is free and available to everyone who wants it, no matter what. Play school, Compulsory, Upper secondary and higher level schools are the four kinds of school offered in Iceland. Iceland’s schooling is mandatory between the ages of 6-16, but play school is not mandatory.

Some of Iceland’s universities are University of Iceland, Reykjayik University and Bifrost University.
